OOO "Surgutgazprom" is one of the largest enterprises in Western Siberia, which is involved in transportation and refining of gas and gas condensate. The company is a subsidiary of OAO "Gazprom". The annual transportation volume of gas exceeds 65 billion m?, total length of long distance pipelines is 6,500 km; the system is equipped with 16 compressor stations and around 230 gas compressors. Number of employees: 14,000 people.
OOO "Surgutgazprom" has become a pioneer in resolving the issues of information support provided to carry out production and commercial operations thanks to successful implementation of the 1st stage of ASU enterprise based on SAP system.

Benefits of the enterprise from the introduction of SAP system are connected with a high level of integration of the performed functions, which, to a great extent, improves information traffic and increases the transparency of information within the enterprise.
Introduction of accounting and reporting functions in SAP system has helped to arrange support of managerial decisions regarding administration of accounts receivable and payable and preparation of consolidated financial statements for each department of the company with the use of one information system. It also gave a chance to increase the level of reliability and timeliness of financial statements. Due to centralized costs accounting in SAP system they were automatically calculated as per their types and places where they are incurred; it also helped to arrange calculation of the actual prime cost of products and services.
Because of the lack of territorial integrity and reliable and steady telecommunications among structural departments serious efforts were made to integrate a centralized SAP system with local systems which are distributed among departments. The existing communications and APMs were updated, required interfaces - created, administrative and technical measures -taken and specific procedures that provide for data delivery, processing and actualization - worked out.
Result
Upon realization of the 1st stage of the project OOO "Surgutgazprom" has got an integrated and distributed management system that helps to centralize administration of financial flows.
In 2002 the 2nd stage of the project was completed; it included automation of logistics processes with the use of MM and CD modules of SAP system and their integration with the existing local systems. The aim of the introduction is to upgrade a mechanism of administration of inventories in all structural departments on the basis of integration of the given material and financial flows.
The results of the project are changes in organizational structure and business processes of material and technical supply of the enterprise. Currently, OOO "Surgutgazprom" is implementing an HR management project, introducing PM functional module (Maintenance and repairs of equipment) and using Business Information Warehouse (Data storage) and Strategic Enterprise Management applications of SAP AG.
